Certification Process Flow
Below is the step-by-step procedure required to obtain and maintain organic certification with USOCA:
Query / Request for Organic Certification
Initial contact from applicant expressing intent to certify production systems.
Form Distribution
Resolving basic queries and sending the common application form for registration in APEDA Tracenet.
Tracenet Registration
Registration of operator details in Tracenet, followed by forwarding Agreement formats and Organic System Plans (OSP).
System Plan Evaluation
Detailed office review and approval of the operator's Organic System Plan.
Pre-Inspection Review
Optional pre-inspection review based on operator preparedness and requirement.
On-site Inspection
Inspectors audit agricultural fields, warehouses, or facilities. Observations are officially communicated.
Report Submission
Inspection report compilation and submission to the designated Evaluator.
Quality Review
Evaluation of reports and compilation of file for submission to the Quality Manager.
Summary Communication
Official summary of inspection observations and non-compliances sent to the operator.
Action Taken Report (ATR)
Operator submits correction evidence and ATR resolving highlighted non-compliances.
Committee Decision
Designated USOCA Certification Committee reviews files and votes on approval.
Preview Verification
Generating scope certificate preview and sending it to operator for final verification.
Scope Certificate Issuance
Generating and signing the final Scope Certificate in Tracenet, validating organic status.
